After my days in New York, I visited my brother in the rural town of Cornwall Connecticut.  Although I was just a little too late for the best of the autumn colors, I was still treated to beautiful October days, and took advantage of them for several long walks, including along Valley Road in our neighborhood.
Both my camera and my soul had to reset from the whirl of colliding artifice that is New York, to the acorn-scented harmony of country scenes in the fields and woods.   It was a transition I'm used to making, as I grew up in New York but spent weekends at our old family home here.  So from street photography I turned my hand to landscapes, or at least the attempt to bottle the eternal tranquility as I headed back to another city in Seattle.
